MagicPad Hints Copy Paste for iPhones

It looks like the copy paste function is the holy grail of all iPhones so far. How could this simple, daily feature have been overlooked for the second year in a row? MagicPad is an upcoming store application destined to be a success. I think a bunch of developers have been thinking about creating an application which will hint a copy paste version which the rest of us can use until master Steve Jobs decides to implement one in the next iPhone.

Proximi is the company behind MagicPad. The application is similar to the default notes tool from the iPhone. There are some improved things. There’s support for multiple fonts, rich text elements like underline, italics and strikethrough, and of course, the copy paste.

MagicPac will add a small toolbar on top of the iPhone’s keyboard. With the loop magnifier you will be able to highlight text and copy into a virtual clipboard. From there you can paste it into any notes. Too bad you can’t get the clipboard everywhere else.

NetPc from Vodafone

Yes the computer in the picture is an Eee PC. Yes it is a 701 version. Yes it comes from Vodafone with a mobile Internet plan.

It appears Asus’ Eee strikes again. Vodafone has picked up the 701 version and it launched the Vodafone NetPC plan. Besides the mini-laptop, the plan includes a “Vodafone Connect” USB modem which will give you access to 3G Internet surfing at speeds of up to 7.2MBps. For now Vodafone Portugal has it in store but it’s likely that other countries will follow.

Vodafone is thinking out of the box here and it’s ready to offer the Eee 701 PC in two versions: a Linux based one and a Windows XP version. The prices will vary depending on what model you choose. Linux will get you a $313 Eee PC while XP will raise the price to $360. Besides that there’s a monthly Internet plan for the next 18-months to be paid. Check back with your Vodafone shop near you if you’re in Portugal right now.

Motorola U9 Anyone?

Motorola is still selling phones, despite popular belief. They are reorganizing their departments in a desperate hope to get things going the way they want to, but they are also selling various models of phones. Such a phone is the U9 which will be available unlocked from their online store (yes they do still have an online store).

The U9 form Motorola was released last autumn and as it’s a GSM device it can be used with T-Mobile and AT&T. The U9 will get you stereo Bluetooth, a microSD slot, a 2 megapixels camera and quadband GSM support. There’s also a music player controllable from the external buttons and Moto’s Crystal Talk technology available.

Samsung SCH-M480 Smartphone for South Korea

Samsung has released another phone, but unfortunately, its only for the Korean market. SK Telecom, the largest mobile operator from South Korea, will be releasing the Samsung SCH-M480 smartphone – available in the second half of July, for a retail price of 600,000 KRW ($600 or 384 Euros).

The phone, a CDMA version of Samsung i780, runs on the latest Windows Mobile 6.1 OS and features a square 2.55 inch TFT touchscreen display with 320 x 320 pixels and 65K colors, a full QWERTY keyboard, 3G connectivity, internal GPS, A-GPS, Wi-Fi, Video and Music players, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, Pocket Office, email, Web browser (Opera Mobile), Instant Messaging, voice memo, a 2 Megapixel camera with video recording, front-facing camera for video calls, 80MB of expandable memory, USB 2.0.

Samsung SCH-M480 weighs 120 grams and measures 115.9 x 61.3 x 12.9 millimeters.

Palm announced their newest smartphone called Treo 800w, its newest smartphone with Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional. Designed for business users who depend on their smartphones for high-speed productivity on the go, the Palm Treo 800w operates on the Sprint Mobile Broadband Network and comes out of the box with support for EV-DO Rev. A data speeds, WiFi for data and GPS capabilities.

Palm designed the Treo 800w for easy-to-use mobility with a full qwerty keyboard, five-way navigation and one-touch buttons to the most-used applications, making it a smartphone people want to use.
With EV-DO Rev. A, peak network download data rates increase to 3.1 Mbps and peak upload data rates increase to 1.8 Mbps; average download speeds improve to 600 kbps to 1.4 mbps and average uplink speeds increase to 350-500 kbps.

The Treo 800w is available today for consumers and businesses at Sprint stores. It will be available for 249.99(USD) after discounts and rebates with a two-year contract.

Hitachi announced it’s new Full HD Camcorder called DZ-BD10H which will be available on August 9th in japan for 160,000 Yen ($ 1600). This new HD Camorder will feature a 7 Megapixel CMOS Sensor, 10X optical zoom lens, 2.7 inch screen, image stabilizer and a brand new technology which can recognize upto 5 face simultaneously and adjust the focusing, exposure etc for best image quality. The onboard 30GB hard drive can accommodate 4 hours 30 minutes of HD video, Blu-Ray takes an hour of recording and a 32GB SDHC card can record 4 hours 25 minutes of full HD video.

Acer Aspire 5930, a Centrino 2 Laptop

Another multimedia notebook released by Acer based on on Intel Centrino 2 mobile platform is the Acer Aspire 5930. It’s basically the same with the 4930, with Intel’s latest processor technology and WiMax functionality.

The difference for this gemstone-designed notebook is the big multimedia experience with its 15.4-inch wide aspect screen and optional Blu-ray drive. NVIDIA GeForce graphics and support for NVIDIA PureVideo HD Technology offer high-resolution gaming and stellar picture quality.
